the flight of the beast

it was not one small thing
that happened
it was the hate
the total disregard
for humanity
the world reverted backward
demoralizing anyone different
starting rumors
burning houses
they cursed those of strength
with conviction and courage
there was always racism and bigotry
but now there were giant steps
toward annilihation of man
they lifted their rifles
beat the innocent to death
walked upon their bodies
lying in the street
those of color
native americans
the japanese
the mexicans
the muslims
people of the gay persuasion
who did no wrong
but the “do-gooders” didn’t want
“that kind” living next to them
hate became an infection
spreading through the communities
like wildfire
god looked down with sadness
as his tears fell
he raised his hand
allowing the flight of the beast
who crushed the earth with its wings
man was annihilated
the inhumane sped to hell
the innocents rose to heaven

    My darling Sally,
This is a time I do wish I was not an atheist as I’d love to see justice done to those that perpetrate hate blood and breed fear…

    Wonderfully written.

What a long standing paradox it is Sally, hate perpetrated in Gods name. A powerful and sobering piece of poetry. May poetic justice prevail.

A very moving write! A slice of truth… no, you’ve baked the whole loaf and left it on the table for us to feast. It is a repast for those needing a good look at what love should look like… and sound like… and feel like- with an open hand.

  • Thank you!!! xoxoxo
