aging to her

of other women’s lives
who she wants to be

decaying each moment
as she grows old
putting on her masks
so no one ever sees
her tears
that flow so freely
missed out on love
was too insecure
wore her mask
as he walked out the door
telling white lies
that turn into black
for the masked woman
there is no turning back

her true self
