The plight of wolves is urgent. Survival of the wolves in the Northern Rockies
is becoming more critical as the days go on. What is being done in Alaska
is disgraceful. Yesterday the Interior Department stripped wolves in the Northern
Rockies of their endangered status…clearing the way for the slaughter of these
magnificent creatures…....the cruelty to wolves in Alaska with their
aerial shooting is outrageous and yet allowed…..please write your Congressman
and please be heard on this issue.

howling at the moon
the stars twinkle brightly
the wolves swoon
lying under the sky
in pure ectasy
wolves find peace
in the beauty that they see
loving every moment
until the rising sun
howling at the moon
until fear makes them run
in their dens
their babies fast asleep
they watch them tenderly
safe they want to keep
much like humans
family is important
should parents die
no wolf is left an orphan
hunters get pleasure
with their guns aim
killing innocent wolves
when will they learn
wolves stand strong
against the wind and rain
hoping they are allowed to live
without any pain
their howling echoes
through the hills
close your eyes
you can hear it still

Nice one Sally. here in Australia they are thinking that because of hunting and Dingos breeding with feral domestic dogs, that there will not be any pure Dingos left in about 20 years. They have found a number of pure Dingos on Fraser Island off Queensland that they hope can keep a breeding population going…...

Beautifully written Sally! It’s so sad to see the extinction of any animal on our planet….Wolves are awesome, when it comes to their loyalty to both their pack and their young. I will follow up and write my concerns! Thanks for being an activist on this issue!! :)
