A crown of flowers
For my head
I watched you weave them
In the breeze
As the leaves danced
Through the trees
With love in each movement
Of your hand
You wove my crown
Oh so grand
You gently
Placed it on my head
My crown of blue
And crown of red
We danced in the field
All day long
To the wind’s soft whistle
Nature’s song
The sun streaked down
As we swayed
The squirrels hid
And the rabbits played
You carved a heart
In a tree
And added our names
To please me
A day in heaven
Is what we spent
The days passed
And away love went
We were young then
So very long ago
Time has passed
And I still can’t let go
