We are the ghosts of the trees
That once stood full and tall
That offered you a beautfiul breeze
ENTER, through the leafless trees
Who are sad and alone
Standing ignored
On their own
Come look and see
Man has not been kind
His carelessness has turned
Our world turned on it’s side
The leaves that grew
All green and full
Are no longer here
We remember still
How wonderful it was
To blow in the wind
Our leaves swaying
As it should have been
The birds are gone
The nests fell down
The baby birds
Lying on the ground
The deer would come
With their young
Running through the trees
Having fun
Squirrels and rabbits
Loved the nuts
That fell off the trees
Saving them in their little huts
All the animals and birds
Have gone away
Silence is here
All the day
The branches that opened
Way up to the sky
Now are leaning forward
We are soon to die
How sad our world
Has become
No longer are we
Enjoying the sun
We fear a fire
Will burn and destroy
It is only humans
That can employ
The cure for our situation
We want to thrive
Please help us
To stay alive

a very sad state of affairs sally, we are facing such devastation in our region as we watch the mighty murray river dry up and become a saline swamp. we need minds like yours!
