As we grow older
We grow in wisdom
Having experienced
So much love
So much pain
So much thunder
So much rain
Our beauty bursts forth
Like a hidden flower
Having waited there
To open wide
For the right time
To say I’m here
And I am fine
A mirror reflects to us
What we only see
But that doesn’t matter
When we speak
Our wisdom will show
Like a blossoming flower
And the whitest snow
So when we look in the mirror
We must look beyond the hidden lines
We hide with make-up
To the heart that is open
To so much love
And having been blessed
Always striving forward
To do our best
So my Darling Friend
Always know
The beauty in your heart
Will always show
Like the finest wildflowers
In the field
You show in your beautiful words
Always what you feel
The lines and wrinkles
We have attained
Will be there
And will remain
We should be proud
When we look at them you see
Because without them
Who would we be?
