She cannot breathe
She cannot talk
She cannot think
She cannot walk
~
When he walks in the room
Her face turns to fear
She is afraid of his touch
Doesn’t want him near
How did this happen
How can this be
How can he think
She doesn’t want to be free
She’s a caged woman
Although there are no bars
He takes control
She’s not allowed to go far
She fears his anger
When no one’s around
He’ll grab her
And slap her down
She wants to leave
But is not sure
Where will she go
He’s closed every door
No one bothers with her
Because of his way
She lost all her friends
They have nothing to say
She goes on every moment
Her life so confused
As in a bad dream
Broken and abused
She cannot escape
She cannot hide
He will follow her
So she must abide
She continues to listen
To all his has to say
Will go on living
In this sick way

Sally, You have an amazing talent to pair your wonderful words with the most appropriate image. I enjoy your unique perspective and interpretation of my work always have a fresh and original point of view to inspire the reader. You definitely have the heart and soul of a poet and intuition and free spirit of a gypsy. It is always a wonderful adventure to read what flows out of your mind onto the written page.
