A flower blooms so gently
Softly growing in the warm earth
Showing it’s petals
In glorious birth
As the petals open
In the warm day’s sun
The colors burst forth
One by one
Some flowers laced
With colors divine
I gently touch them
Saying “you’re mine”
I walked in the garden
My heart skipped a beat
I could not believe
What was growing at my feet
Walking along I did see
Flowers in the morning mist
With little diamond dew drops
That seemed to have been kissed
There were tulips of red
Daisies of yellow
I smiled at them
And felt so mellow
The roses were crimson
The violets so blue
I was so happy
Thinking of you
Waltzing so delicately
The flowers seemed to tease
Their beautiful leaves so green
In the warm swaying breeze
I stand there in the gaudy array
Of my glorious flowers
And I pray
May I have many more hours
To stand in my garden
And smile as I see
These glorious flowers
Looking back at me
So, come my Darling
Walk with me through my flowers of love
Holding hands as lovers do
With the sun shining from above
