THE VOW

THE VOW belongs to the following groups:

Under the stars
In my organdy dress
With flowers in my hair
And you in your tie-dyed shirt
And blue jeans
You made a vow
To fulfill my dreams

Under the stars
With tears rolling down my cheeks
And your hand in mine
We looked at the stars
And you made a vow
That we would never part
Being together forever after
And yet you broke my heart

Under the stars
I looked in your eyes
Your hair long and soft
And was in awe of you
I trusted your love
Gave myself to you
Yet I was shattered
I remained so blue

Under the stars
A vow made never to be broken
Two teenagers
Locked in love
Forever was theirs
In a deep caress
And yet you would being me tears

With the stars shining through
Our bedroom window
You would call out my name
And I would rush to your side
And profess my undying adoration
You holding me
Was love just our imagination

With the stars shining through
Our bedroom window
You walked away
Giving no reason
Except to say
I’ll love you always and forever
And walked out the door
Coming back never

Under the stars
I could not understand
Why you made a vow
And gave me a rose
I screamed your name
You did not answer
Why didn’t you explain

Under the stars
I still think of you
The dimple in your chin
The smile in your eyes
The vow you made
And I can now laugh
How didn’t you know your vow
Would cut my heart in half

Under the stars
Do you think of my face
Remember my smile
Whisper my name
I still think of you now
And whisper your name
And remember THE VOW

Great writing Sally.I think everybody means their promises when they make them. Most forget them after awhile.

Beautifully written,we all seem to remember our first true love, and then we spend the rest of our lives comparing to those memories, some do find it again but for most they seldom do.

it is sad the vows are made , then some one changes and leaves the other wondering why, this i very well written , if you find your true love i don’t think words are important it the feeling of how you love and are connected , nothing else matters as long you are there for each other . words are words broken all the time heart and soul is all that matters

Just beautiful Sally – so sad to make such a promise and then to walk away without an explanation – just heartbreaking! xxx
