The preparations always started on Saturday eve
What Mom would cook you wouldn’t believe
The family would eat light on Saturday night
Knowing after dinner Sunday their clothes would be tight
Her meatballs and sauce would cook three hours or more
As she was waxing the kitchen floor
In the morning the Lasagna would be in the pot
The sauce would be warmed up until it was hot
The Ricotta and mozzerella sat mixed in a dish
And it would carefully be prepared, perfection her wish
The Roast Beef and potatoes in the oven so nice
The Italian Bread perfectly sliced
Cannolis and pastries were the dessert
Unfortunately by then the buttons popped off my skirt

it was a trip down memory lane to my mom’s house .. she would
start cooking Saturday and we would eat till we almost burst..she
was the best..this is one of my favorite collaborations .. thank you

are definitely invited but today, in my house, it’s vegetarian
cuisine..but I still remember how absolutely delicious all my Mother’s
meals were..she was amazing..and I am sure Donna’s Mom is
still cooking those delicious Sunday dinners. Sally xxoo
