MY SISTER

Although you were a child yourself
You put your toys on the shelf
And sat me on your lap
And hugged me while I napped
Stopping all fears that I had
You made me smile .. you were never sad
You sang me a lullaby
Little Baby please don’t cry
And rocked me till I fell asleep
Never did I make a peep
So happy to be in my big sister’s arms
She would protect me from any harm
You told me stories of far away places
And of people with silly faces
And when I cried I came to you
Because you knew what to do
To stop me from weeping
And in your heart always keeping
A special place for my name
And in my heart is the same
Little spot where only you belong
And I always remember your song
Childhood is gone and I’m on my own
Sitting here all alone
Thinking of how I miss
My Sister
