SNOOZE

Nancy, Your photo SNOOZE spoke

on the RB

Went for a walk to try to clear my head
Was still tired when I got out of bed
After thirty-five years of wedded bliss
And a wonderful phenomenal kiss
My wife told me she no longer cared
She was getting older and she was scared
She’s getting a divorce and wants to be free
She walked out of the door and left me
I wasn’t a great husband that I admit
But at night it was very hard to sit
And listen to her tales of woe
She was always unhappy and very low
The minute she started I’d go for a walk
Couldn’t tolerate her silly talk
Leaving her alone with her many fears
I did this for many many years
Now she’s left me on my own
Doesn’t answer her telephone
I’m the one left lonely and blue
There’s not much left for me to do
So I walk around the streets everyday
Looking for someone to say
Hello, goodbye or how are you
I can’t believe I miss her voice too
This never was part of my plan
I was just a very unkind foolish man
Now I sit on the park bench eyes closed
Dreaming of my wonderful wife Rose

Great message in this piece Sally – it’s too easy to walk away and not listen when someone really needs to be heard – one day they are the one that walks away – fantastic writing dear friend! xxx
