Skipping?
Are we skipping fall and going right into winter or what??? This morning we are having thunder snow and for awhile it was falling ice, falling hard and enough to cover the roads and most of the grass….now it is a gentle snow falling…..I thought we were moving into fall….????
It is very pretty, though….no need to complain….I am just not quite ready for the world to be white again…..but today I will breathe it in, knowing it is temporary and the sun and warm/chilly days of fall will return….

It sounds beautiful Jan! I would welcome snow with open arms after such a long and extremely hot summer! We will still be pushing 90 today and a threat of thunderstorms is looming even after we’ve had about 2 weeks of rain. At least the weekend had nice weather for a change so I was grateful.

it is beautiful, colleen…..and like i said, i should not complain….i know…and my sister & brother-in-law were here last week from irving saying how sick they are of the heat and wanting to move west…so i should count my blessings…. :-)

Gosh Jan I hate to think of winter here in West Virginia, I don’t believe we have a flat area in our State ! We don’t seem t have had much summer this year and already the leaves are turning ! I love Autumn except I know when it comes winter is not far behind !

Been cold in the Catskills also… no snow yet, but rain should begin tomorrow so who knows! We had a cold rainy summer much to the delight of our Southern visitors but the gardens suffered… the leaves are beginning to turn so it should be beautiful very soon!

Ah, the Rockies! heh heh We had some rain last week and a thunder storm Saturday night late. But other than that, we’ve been having a glorious ‘Indian Summer’ type of fall. The leaves have begun turning, some already falling while others are still green. It actually may have come about a week late here In the Tetons.
I’m with you, don’t really want to go to the all white yet, BUT when it does start snowing, I always get very happy about getting out my skis! And I have Mya and Wiley to take with me this year! He’s so happy to have another gorgeous female friend to boss him around and play with. ;o)

Cloudy and a bit cool today… Autumn is my favorite season, but it never lasts long enough! Winter is always just around the corner… and less welcome every year. ;)

me too Jan…... glorious thunder snow, that incredible combination of rain, hail, snow and thunder bouncing off the Rockies….. it woke me then lulled me back to sleep! I wondered what it would look like…....opened the door and I just smiled at the first snow, covering everything in a crisp white fresh blanket…......ahhhh, Colorado! ya never know ;o)

Summer here was rather cooler than usual but we had maybe two or three weeks of really hot weather … but then it was back to cooling breezes and cuddling weather. Hmmm … I would cuddle in the heat though too if it felt right! hehe … Well, anyway … I think that I would love to have a long fall … time will tell. It is gorgeous today … a nice fall-like day. Just a enough nip in the air to make you feel ALIVE!

Go figure. We have to cover the flowers in SW Montana tonight, but then high 80’s for the rest of the week. I love it. I love wearing hoodies. I’m glad someone else has snow first, my southern friends tease me about freezing.

Hiya Sis, awoke to low 40’s this AM and hubby is preparing for winter, maple leaves are RED for a month now, firewood chopping and first fire in the woodstove, cuz I’m freezing at 60 degrees – hehehe ;) Guess our Fall Equinox is telling us otherwise…
