This is a shot of the well known Treasury of Petra, “The Rose City”, in Jordan. It was caught just at the end of the day as the sun was setting, the crowds dispersing and the camels resting!
Of all the things I have seen, this is definately a highlight. The feeling I got as I walked down the narrow siq and got a first glimpse of the Treasury from between the rocks is one I’ll never forget!

Wow this is amazing – I can imagine the awe you would have felt walking up to this place. Lovely composure and that heavy contrast works great. Well done
An amazing place indeed- how the hell did you get the camels to be so co-operative??? The tones are a treat
Thanks Alan for the great comment! :-)
Haha! Thanks wellman.. yeah camels do have a reputation for being unco-opertaive.. it must have been my charm! :-)
Hi Paul, what a stunning image love the deep tones, and an amazing place to have visited, very special! :)
Thanks Heather! :-)
this is wonderful – the tones are just perfect for this and the composition is excellent and the camels add that finishing touch.
With the camels resting there, it shows how grand this place is… otherwise, I woul have thought that it was much smaller of a place…
Great capture… Great work… Love it.
love the tones here!!!
