On the Edge
From a well known British stone monument, Stonehenge uploaded yesterday, to a lesser known Saudi earthwork. Affectionately known as “Edge of the World”, this collosal natural stone monument stands proud along the Tuwaiq Escarpment in the desert north of Riyadh, providing breathtaking views across the old Darb al Hijaz. Darb, meaning ‘way’ was a route used for centuries by travellers moving east-west across Arabia and many of the camel trails can still be seen today.

What fabulous DOF you’ve used here Paul. Love the story to go with it too, being surrounded by such ancient and fascinating civilisation must be awesome.

WOW….what a view. Adore the framing and perspective and I also like how the clouds meet the horizon. This is just stunning, Paul. Love the title too.

I really like the detail in the foreground stone. The textures have been captured very well and the tones and light on it are also spot on.
The background looks nice and soft and is lit perfectly by the soft blue sky, the formation of clouds really top it all off too.
The description is also informative – It’s great to learn about places like this that have a history that aren’t so well known – so thanks for that too
Paul Tupman
