I’ve given up counting how many arrows your poor overused bow must have now Paul! This is truly magnificent. It’s like you’ve taken the TTT, gone back to the book, scrapped everything and rewritten the manual. I am liking these new ENTWTBTTT? (Excellent new tones. Will they be Trademark Tuppers Tones?) very much indeed.

What I really love (a word that gets banded about in these comment boxes but I mean it more sincerely here than usual) is the darkness of the blue sky with perfect flared sun. The textures of the sand are absolutely incredible, the way they come out of the dark and into the light, showcasing off the impressions so well.

Then the human interest just adds scale, focus and subject.

    Blinding, sheer brilliance Paul.

Thank you SO much Stuart.. that just really made my day.
I must admit I was really pleased with this and these new tones that I came across put a smile on my face when I was developing this! You know when you get an image that you can’t wait to show off… well I tried countless times to get this uploaded when I finished it last night, each time my crappy connection timing out! Very frustrating!
    Thanks again… :-)

Amazing shot, your lighting and perspective are spot on. Those footprints are such great leading lines but also give a sense of solitude…only one set of prints.
    Superb work!

  • Paul Tupman replied

Thanks so much Elaine. This shot was taken as we trudged our way up this steep dune, feet sinking into the sand with every step. Very hard work!

Paul – you are making me quite jealous! This, as well as the other recent photos where you have been trying something new makes me wish for my time outside with my camera. All I can say is keep going – keep experimenting. And to have that comment from Stuart above – one of the best photographers on RB that I’ve seen – is something else!!

  • Paul Tupman replied

Thanks Mark… a week off work certainly helps with getting out and about to try out a few new things and yes, I really appreciate all the great comments from Stuart aswell as yourself and everyone else!
    Thanks again… :-)

This is simply superb Paul, an instant fave…the exposure and lighting are excellent, and love the footprints leading your eye into the shot to the main subject climbing the dune. Fantastic!

  • Paul Tupman replied

Thanks Dan.. I was so pleased with this and well worth the climb! This was just one of many stop on the way up.. most of which were to catch our breath!

This is really, really, really good. The dark tones are amazing here. I love the textures in the sand especially. I went to the white sands once in New Mexico and I never got to slide down it because I got ill as soon as I got there. I have to make another attempt at it again. This picture here is a great reminder.

Beautiful work, Paul. Love that you’ve gotten such awesome detail even when pointing directly into the sun! The light and shade on the dunes is gorgeous.
