On the Other Side

They say that the grass is always greener on the other side…

...it may not be that easy to get to but well worth the effort! I’ve been trying to get to those greener pastures for a while now and yesterday its looks like I just found a gate!

It’s not green but the future is definately looking brighter! 29.08.08

Taken on the road from Tofino to Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. British Columbia. March 2008. Thank you Claire once again for putting aside your camera for a while to satisfy my whims!

Timeless image Paul. Just timeless. Another classic TTT revised image from yourself. The light sheening off the handrails is just jaw droppingly gorgeous and the textures within the jetty are superb.

They say a photo can tell a thousand stories and there are som many different tales as to what is going on here that could spring to mind.

  • Paul Tupman replied

Thank you so much again Stuart for your wonderful and insightful comment.. I’m glad that you picked up on the swimming pool ladder.. for me it was a stand out part of the composition as it was such a stark contrast to the setting. Thanks again… :-)

It’s hard to put into words the effect of your photo on me. Surreal, dreamlike, wonder, inspiring.. nope can’t do it. It’s a great photo/art. You can stare at it and so many different strains of thought compete. It’s not your atypical photo – and it’s all the better for it. Wonderful. Well done!

So many thinkgs to love about this image, like it’s power to transport the viewer, the peace and tranquility it instills and the nostalgia and longing it evokes, just to name a few…Oh, and a composition that bends many of the so called ‘rules’ makes it just perfect.

Gorgeous soft scene. Love the shades of grey and black and white in the fog. Interesting surprise to have the pool ladder and buoys on the one side. Wish I were there~I love this area of BC.
