#66
Poets Cove, Pender Island (Gulf Islands), Canada
March, 2008
Taken during a beautiful weekend away at Poets Cove, Pender Island – part of the Gulf Islands just a hop, skip and a boat plane away from Vancouver… well there is an interesting story attached to that hop, skip and boat plane ride… another time!
A perfect time had at a perfect location… one I would recommend to anyone.

I love the differing angles on the wooden paths Paul. The shadows and textures on no.66 are amazing and the glimmer of reflections in the water is just amazing. Really really like this a lot and the shot speaks wonders about the place itself let alone your recomendation

Thanks Stuart… this was actually the second attempt at capturing all of these angles.. the first was from the day before, only the day before we were having every adverse weather condition thrown at us! Not quite so perfect, but still a wonderful place!

This is so beautiful Paul – like Stuart i love the different angles and the way it offers different perspectives. The black and white tones are really nice too – especially on the wood – which also shows of the beautiful lighting. I love the reflections too of the boat and the cloud – it is one of the images that has so much to it yet looks quite minimal (if that makes sense).

Love the angle or rather angles… your use of lines in this is fantastic…, great subdues tones as well. The reflections are another favorite.. the whole shot seems uniquely fresh.

Thank you Lexie.. I always appreciate all of your comments. :-)

That’s wild. The slant makes me feel like I’m going to slide off the right side of the frame.
The horizon is level though, which makes the slanted walkway part even more effective.
It’s cool how it’s part B&W, & part colour. Very neat. :)
