This is really special Paul – beautifully suited to b&w – you get a great sense of natures power in both the clouds and the posture of the people, which looks as if they are battling against the elements. I also love the sense of scale and depth – human being absolutely dwarfed by the vastness of the world – brilliant!!!
Paul Tupman replied
Thanks Deb… battling against the elements, battling against everything in this image! That’s how I feel sometimes, but some things are worth fighting for!
Jean M. Laffitau
BRILLIANT!!!! Love it!
Paul Tupman replied

I love your description, we can not know one without the other, therefore opposites are essential. Love the brillinace of the white on the left half of the frame… fading into something darker. The whole piece gives a feeling of a journey being taken… Excellent job Paul… I think I could use a whole wall in my home to display your work in.
Paul Tupman replied
Thanks Lexie.. I think that you got this image spot on with your comment about the journey from one extreme to another… I had titles rolling round my head about succumbing to the dark side but didn’t like the Star Wars reference.. lol! Anyway, you’ll have to get a big wall if I keep producing large scale work like this! Thanks again.. :-)
David Harris
Striking image Paul! Nice capture!
Paul Tupman replied
Thanks again David.. :-)
Atreju Hood

Paul Tupman replied
Thanks Atreju.. definately an explosion of light!

I have a huge wall actually… Vaulted ceiling, two stories.
Ian James
Another brilliant image Paul I really love the intensity of the light exploding into the scene. I like the tiny speck of the people in the distance. Spot on.
Paul Tupman replied
Thanks Ian.. it was a case of how far do I dare blow out that sky! Glad that you spotted the people way off in the distance! This actually reminds of the beach shot that you did like this…
Naomi Frost
OMG..this is fantastic. It’s one of those images that you can stare at for ages and you can interpret it in so many different ways. Your description is just perfect. As others have said…BRILLIANT!
Paul Tupman replied
Thank you so much Naomi.. that’s just the kind of reaction I wanted and for people to interpret it however they wanted.. I was so pleased with the way it turned out as it developed and had many ideas running through my mind!
Mel Brackstone
What a fabulous piece, Paul! Love what you’ve done here, the light to dark works so well, the small to large human element….it’s all just perfect!

i like this, it is almost like they are turning away from another world..are they walking on water??
Paul Tupman replied
Thanks Rebs.. :-) Actually, it was a very wet and windy day out there on the beach and there was a lot of water on the ground, both from the tide and the sky!
