Lose Yourself
Bow Lake. Alberta, Canada
March 2008
Inspired by comments from Stuart Chapman and Rhana Griffin on my last upload of this stunning setting, I decided to revisit this location… if only I could have actually revisited for real, but sadly only through my many pictures…
This really was an expanse of breath taking scenery and I was more than happy to pull this one out of the bag…

WOW WOW WOW!!! AWESOME!!! Very awesome. Still very Ansil Adams and I love that!
Paul Tupman
WOW! Thank you so much Atreju.. to be likened to Ansel Adams is a huge compliment… and I love that! Thanks again… :-)

Again… so gorgeous… You have no idea how badly I desire to be somewhere like this right now.. a place so free from the world, quiet, where real thinking can be done. I love the cleanliness of the shot, it is uncluttered by anything or anyone… free from noise, from pollution.. very very well done. I agree with the above comment, it does have an Ansil Adams feel to it. Well done.
Paul Tupman replied
Wow, 2 Ansel Adams references in as many comments! Thank you again Lexie.. I really appreciate great comments like that and glad that you were able to lose yourself in this.. and I know what you mean, I would love to be back there right now! :-)

Incredibly beautiful vast landscape, love the light and shadow criss crossing the foreground! :D
Paul Tupman replied
Thank you Heather… yes the shadows did look amazing on that pristine snow.. it really made you aware of how big this landscape was! :-)
Stuart Chapman
Can I hear another song from your i-pod inspiring the title or was it just the memories flooding back? Either way it does appear to be the kind of place you could lose yourself in for hours (or 5 minutes when frostbite starts kicking in!)
I could throw another AA similarity in here, but fear for your ever expanding ego (can you help being this good?) but still can’t help it. It is very reminiscent of the legend of Adams again.
This just feels really still and quiet (you can almost hear the quietness) and the diagonals of the mountain on the left angle perfectly into the scene.
Paul Tupman replied
Wow.. thank you so much Stuart! What an amazing comment.. with all of these AA comments I’m not going to be able to get out of the door.. not for the size of my ego, just simply the size of my smile!
Not from the iPod actually, although it is on there… just a previous comment from Rhana on Bow Lake.
Thanks again.. :-)
