!IF I WERE A CHILD
if i were a child
i’d twirl around like a top
dance in the meadows
and never stop
run through the fields
like a banshee
loving every moment
because a child i would be
i’d have a blue kite
set it off in the sky
watching it fly off in the blue
ever so high
with my daddy
standing next to me
i’d let go of the string
setting it fly free
watching it prance
laughing and giggling
as my blue kite
would be jiggling
i’d chase it
till it swirled to the ground
while the breeze
made a soft rustling sound
i want to feel once more
the freedom of being a child
of watching a kite fly
in the sky so wild
if i were a child
i’d twirl like a top
