Up Close With Latourell III by

Latourell Falls, Latourell, Oregon

Canon 5DII, 16-35mm f/2.8L II @ 35mm, CPL + 2-stop ND

_-1 and 0 exposures fused first in Photomatix Pro, then fused again to plus-1 exposure, fine-tuned in CS5

Third and final intimate of this magnificent cataract on this day, this one shot from under the footbridge. Aside from keeping the lens free of spray, the toughest aspect of shooting this popular falls up close is keeping other people out of the scene (I’m sure I’ve probably ruined a picture or two myself!).

We all know that feeling of try to dodge others shots and avoiding others in our images Tula, great work and a striking capture, regards, Mark.

  • Ha ha, there is a certain kinship to it, though. Everyone’s always courteous about it, which is great. Thanks for the kind words, Mark!

Congrats on your well deserved features! I like how this feels more abstract than Landscape

  • Thanks, Ang! I was kind of cursing the wind whipping and blurring the tree’s leaves, but it does make for a painterly effect coupled with the splotches of color from the lichen. Thanks for ‘seeing’! :)
