The sun begins its descent
The shadows slowly lengthen
children head for home as the streetlights flicker on.
Voices alter their octive from a loud cry to a hushed tone
no one wanting to break the sacred aura of evening.
Children giggle in hushed tones, parents quietly settle little ones in for the night
A breeze begins to stir, the sun moves lower in the sky, casting its last warm rays upon a sleepy world.
We settle in to our favorite spots, a couch, a chair, a footstool ,propping up our feet
Some sit back in a warm circle around deck tables, candles flicker in the on coming moonlight.
We aimlessly swat away an evening insect,
tones are hushed, our minds think back to the hard work of the day, muscles relax
we think ” a good job was done today by all”
Glasses are lifted, whispered toasts are given
smiles brighten the fading light, accepting the evening darkeness as we relax
and enjoy a moment of peace in what was a hectic day.
Tomorrow is far away, as we embrace an evening of calm, with friends family and loved ones
Tomorrow brings a new day, new schedules, new important items that must be done, but for the moment we relax, accept the accending evening and smile with a feeling of accomplishment.

ewwww thats so gross!!!!! thats one big freaking spider!! sounds like the bird spider that jumped at me. i kid you not.. this thing was bigger than my open hand and was hairy!! They actually hunt birds. it jumped over 6 feet and barely missed me. i screamed at the top of my lungs and promptly hit it about ten times with the business end of a shovel before it finally died! blaahhh
