    walls of isolation

  • your right about the isolation hun.. ok here’s a hint.. it was taken for " a portrait of a city" Project. with a very deep message involved in this. I’m not saying what yet since i want to see what other peoples interpretations of this image are. Getting some great answers so far :)

To me, it looks like a young girl/woman (Missy?) taking advantage of the warmth of the sun and enjoying some solitude away from the hurly burly of everyday life, to do something personal. It also, in some ways, says how insignificant we each are in terms of the “big” picture but this young person is confident and not concerned with that at the moment. The cardboard and discarded cup are subtle reminders of the mess we humans make.
A wonderful, minimalistic photo with good subliminal messaging, Kelly.

  • wow Jan thats a fantastic perception of this image! you are partially correct in the description of the carboard and discarded cup. Ok i’ll give a hit. it was taken as part of a “Portrait of a city project” think deeper lol. I do love the minimalistic aspects of this image!! I fell in love with it right away!

Lol, unfortunately, it being Sunday, my imagination refuses to come up with anything else. About the only other thing I can force out of it is that, despite so many of us living in cities, they can be quite “empty” at times.

  • lol you basically got it hun! a community of 60,000 and yet we are all isolated in small pockets away from everyone else, any connection seems to be made through technology. its shows how communities went from small personally run stores in the downtown core to big box impersonal stores we have today!

Unfortunately, that’s too true. Life can be very lonely for so many people today, and no-one seems to care.
