Part of my mothers day request was a family hike! So we set out early this morning before the rain descended! Unfortuantely i was not able to rent a larger lens so this was taken with the 75-300mm lens. i had visited this beauty about two weeks ago, i had a feeling then that she might be sitting on eggs. Much to my surprise and delight I discovered Not one but two beautiful bald eagle babies alongside mom in the nest! As soon as I realized there were two babies. I let out a whoop and hollered at Ariel.. omg she has two babies!!! lol missy grinned and said i know mom i can see them. It was amazing to watch. I’ve asked to be able to document their growth and permission has been granted!. i should mention that the gentleman i spoke with this morning stated that normally the bald eagles are not here this time of the year. they usually take off in the early spring and do not return until late fall. so we are alittle amazed that this pair chose to nest here during the summer.
