Rose and Crown - without the thorns by

One of the oldest hotels (1841) in Western Australia, the Rose and Crown at Guildford is on the WA Heritage Register. Flemish bond brickwork is found in a number of very old buildings in WA.

Single photograph modified by ‘coloured pencil’ and ‘poster edges’ in Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac.

The original photograph was very flat, largely because of the lack of direct light on any part of it. Photoshop enhancement highlighted detail and textures.

A very interesting treatment Ian, nice work.

  • Thanks Gary. I felt the original photograph was in need of more texture – despite the obvious perspective, it looked a bit flat.
