Great pp work Paul – I bet the place is haunted :o)

I didn’t stay too long to find out Kira!
They say there is a cistercian monk whose spirit inhabits the grounds, he committed murder and was buried in unconsecrated ground outside the Abbey walls and cannot accept his punishment.
For centuries he has tried to re-enter the consecrated ground but without success, hence the continuing presence (how’s that!!)
Thank you for your kind comment

excellent treatment reaally works with these buildings

Cheers Rick, appreciate you stopping by and commenting on this image.
The original shot just didn’t look right in the colour mode it was taken in, so I started playing around with textures and toning to give it a very ancient look.

Was there a particular software program you used to get this effect… this is something I’ve been looking for and haven’t found the right filters
Tsitra replied
Hi Rick, yes I processed the image in Photoshop CS4.
Copied and pasted a texture over the original and then blended (multiply), tweaked the opacity, flattened the image then converted to Sepia mode, then further tweaking with levels, highlights and shadows, hue saturation until I was happy with result.
Hope that helps

Paul
Robert Verste...
an amazing picture …back to the old wy’s of processing…..well done
Tsitra replied
Thanks Robert, the age of digital imagery brings yet another perspective to the world of art.
I like this definition of art found in Wikipedia :
Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions.

Nice work Paul< I agree a vintage look suits this much much better than colour.
Tsitra replied
Thanks Ric, textures are a concept you could write a book about, so much to do, so much to experiment with, I think I’m going to be in this for a while yet

Hi greenstone, thanks so much, really flattering from someone who isn’t keen on the altered image, thank you.
There is a definition of art, thus :
Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions.
