Erie Falls is a 47 foot waterfall at Ricketts Glen State Park, on the Ganoga Glen side of the Falls Trail. What can I say about this waterfall other than it was truly spectacular on this day.

This shot was taken during the Welcome PA group outing to Ricketts Glen State Park. A week prior the water on Kitchen Creek was raging, but on this day it was perfect. Although there was some sun to contend with, it was just about as good of a day as you could ask for.

Perfection!!! Day and night when I was there and yesterday… :(

  • Lina, it’s taken me years to get there during the right conditions in the fall. I’ve been really lucky the past 2 years. Maybe you and Theresa can make an unplanned expedition this weekend. :-)

Stunning Tim!!! I have one of Erie too…. just couldn’t get to all of them today….too many other pics to go through!!!!!

  • Thanks Lori, looking forward to your shots. This is from up along the trail, ended up liking it better than my shots from part way down. Seemed a little too tight with my prime from the lower spot. Thanks again!

We have a wedding to attend this weekend… :( Our boss is getting married so we have no choice. Then I’m going to Florida in 2 weeks… We’re thinking of what to do and where to go on Thanksgiving. Any ideas? :)

  • Just tell him you have a bad case of Ricketts…technically you wouldn’t be lying. :-)

Hmm. Late November is a tough time for me…I’ll noodle over it but nothing spectacular comes to mind.

Absolutely gorgeous view, Tim! I love your point of view here. You captured the falls perfectly, with the autumn foliage providing the best possible context for the overall scene! Fantastic work, my friend!

  • Many thanks Gene for your kind words. Had a wonderful time yesterday and it was great seeing you again. A couple of weeks ago I never thought we’d have such great conditions to shoot. Thanks again Gene!

Another perfect waterfall shot, Tim. You certainly are very good at these. Love it.:)

  • Thank you Ann, you are so very kind! I really do enjoy shooting waterfalls, been doing it for so long I can still remember how challenging it was with film. Thank goodness for histograms and LCDs where you can see the clipping. Thanks again Ann!
