The first time I got on a plane as a teenager, it was a little nervous but excited at the same time. I have grown to enjoy the window seat. I have flown across our country from California to Florida to Washington D.C. I was going through photos from a past trip to Las Vegas. We had a layover at Dallas-Fort Worth and we thought we would never depart. Finally we boarded the plane. This was just a random photo but it meant so much more to me than just documenting us leaving the airport. I recall taxing away from the terminal where I noticed the flag and the banner, I quickly grabbed my camera. I enhanced this image so the banner that read: For the Love of our Country. For the Love of our Industry. For the Love of AmericanAirlines. as well as our country’s flag stood out as it did to me that day.
It really made me think about no matter what happens to us as a country or in our personal lives, we keep on going. We do not let fear stop us, especially now living in a world after 9/11. The flag representing our freedom and the lives that where lost and continued to be lost so I —so we could all remain free. It was very humbling reading the banner, “For The Love OF Our Country….” and seeing our country’s flag that appeared to be on the edge of the wing of our plane.
