Do Bulls Really See Red? by trueblvr

Do Bulls Really See Red? by

OK, so I go on a shoot where there is this barn that I have been seeing from the freeway for years. George told me how to get to it…so I went there today…I drove down the dirt road and got out of my car to walk to the barn. I got no more than maybe 5 car lengths from my car (Chrylsler Concord) and I hear this really loud menacing bellow coming out of a cow behind me….Ok, he was not there when I got out of my car!! And he was charging, and bellowing this deafening sound, and kicking up dirt and frothing….Needless to say…I’m rethinking my plans as I walk slowly back to my car…..and all the time he was screaming and kicking and getting into the charge pose…with a very flimsy wire fence between us. I had to get back into my car from the passenger side ( the drivers side was to close to the fence for me to try that….I would say I would have been about 10 ft. from him. But of course all the while I am shooting pictures….WHAT is wrong with me…..You all know dont you!!! come on, you know you would have been getting shots while this was happening too. you. So this 64 yr. old great grandma is trying to get over the stick shift into her drivers seat….OH Brother….and did it stop me? of course not..
I just drove down the road instead of walking it… Got my pictures, but I have to be honest…I was one scared Mama !!!!
OH, and Yes, my car is RED

Hi, Di here…(Diane)
I love photography…. am a 65 yr young kid (2013) and shooting at almost everything. Seeing the mundane with new eyes and heart. I am totally enjoying the Bubble and the amazing talent here. Please look if you please, and would love to read your comments and any new ideas.

Ha ha ha…Oh lordy…you know, I would have been snapping away too. This sounds like an adventure/mess I would get myself into if I could…ha ha ha. You are wild one Di. Imagine if we were on these outings together!! Only we know what that would really be like. This is outstanding!! (next time, wear protective gear of some sort…ha ha ha) Love and hugs, Peach

  • I did wear protective gear… car, once I got back to it….he was so loud, I wanted to cover my ears but I was afraid to move to quickly….or scream back SHUTUP or something….you and me?? oh that would be hilarious…we could take pics of each other running and screaming and what ever else our bodies were doing at that moment…..can I say that on the bubble?? har har….Gee I love you Peach….XX

You forgot to mention that new red outfit you were wearing!! HAHA! This definitely sounds like a scenario we would find ourself in, or at least one of us! (The one that spotted a doggie down the street and started calling out “Here Poochie Poochie” only to have me inform her that it’s a stray pitbull, and he didn’t look very fiendly, ah, vision!!) Glad you survived your encounter Di, way to go on the shooting on the run, also something we would do!!

  • OH my …….NO….life is definately a hoot huh Steve….good thing you were there with her.

Oh this is a great story,,,Reminds me of my snake experience~!!!! But I have to say the bull is WAY scarrier than that snake as far as size goes…But the threat of death is just as scary. Isnt that just amazing Mom, that in about two weeks you and I are both faced with horrid fear yet we manage to capture that shot of fear itself…..!
