You judge me without knowing me, and you say this is right…You judge me from what others say despite what you may think… You judge me because I may be different, and do things in my own way… You judge me out of fear to lift yourself up, and you judge me to convict me despite there is no guilt… You judge me for the work I do, even though you may lack the knowledge as to how it is done… You judge me for the words I say, and the thoughts I may have…To judge me is easier than to accept me for who I am…To judge me is a choice, and a decision to avoid looking at the one staring back from the glass…You judge me because your able, and it makes everything seem alright…You judge me for the clothes I wear… or the color of my skin, and you judge me for the beliefs I have…You judge my intelligence and the money I have or have not…Simply because I am different you fail to see the one in the mirror.

It’s difficult not to make assumptions about people you first meet, it’s a human thing, but you hope that those initial assumptions are not set in stone and allow them to change over time.
