Sometimes in life we let the hardships build up, and we tend to hang onto them and fail to see the beauty in life that surrounds us everyday. It wasn’t until I put on a new pair of glasses that I was able to view life in a different frame of mind. I wrote this when I found those new pair of glasses.
I never saw the flowers in the garden, I never heard the birds singing, or a sweat childs laughter.
I never rolled in the green grass of summer, or felt the warm raindrops on my face.
I never watched the beauty of nature as dark clouds glided overhead, or when the eagles soared high in the sky.
I was emotionally and spiritually weak, tied to the ego with selfish content. Yet now I am free from the bondage of self, enlightened with laughter and able to hear the birds singing and feel the warm sun on my face.
Now I believe in my higher power, because now I can see the flowers in the garden.

I so enjoyed reading this Mark…and yes I know exactly what you mean…when you say “I found those new pair of glasses”...having the ability to really see.

I just read this Mark after commenting on your new sense of freedom as you spread your wings looking through through your a new collection of powerful, colorful and beautifully textured glasses. You have found the higher power in yourself and I am delighted that you are experiencing life through a much different perspective that is also reflected in your artistic and written form of expression. Your words are touching and inspiring. I may need to borrow your glasses. lol.
