Beneath the fallen cross!

Easter Sunday Morning
………………………………………….

Val had a cave
on the outskirts of suburbia,
verging on the precipice of acceptance,
selling rusty nails, silver spoons,
and thousand dollar dreams,
to distraught cats and lonely sparrows,
I was introduced to these folks,
by a sad man with a pocketful of hope and a mind full
of redemption,
dominated by donkeys and carpet salesman,
surrounded by vultures,
who closed the blinds
as the procession walked past,
muffling the screams of pain
from a past never to be forgotten,
yearning for the springtime sun
to warm their frozen hearts and mend their
brittle bones,
to say I wasn’t curious,
would be an understatement,
but remember folks
curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought her back,
death may understand but waits for no man,
Val had a cave
on the outskirts of insanity,
I seldom visit,
but when I do I always place
black roses
upon the driven snow…………….

Can’t live in the past…can’t escape, though many try. It is a daily human dilemma for many of us, unable to get beyond and overcome. Great read, Rocky!

  • Thank you devotee…I agree…

Whatever step taken in life whether it be good or bad
We all have to face the great reaper one day

    Great thinking.

Reading this makes me think of my own walk on the side of “don’t go theres”. Daisies I think for me, never black roses. Perception I think my friend from where we just left. It, I guess will differ for everyone. Just a wonderfully written work Rocky.

  • Thank you Donna….
