A picture I’ve toyed with putting up on Redbubble.

Another Tekapo landscape ;op – have you had enough?

Sony a850, 1/160sec f10, iso100

I do like this B&W conversion though – Silver Efex Pro in CS5

Really like the cloud shadows on the mountains behind.
Not quite enough Dean – will manage to live through a few more pics from hereabouts ;-)

  • lol – Cheers Vik
had some great clouds that day, great light :o) makes it easier that’s for sure.

Haven’t seen a snow shot of Lake Tekapo in a while, this is sweet. Would be interested to see how a pano crop would work with this one.

  • Thanks Travis – yeah 2ft of snow when we got there – was quite magical . I haven’t tried the flat crop yet. I took a bit of the top and bottom and got the thirds going with this one – but I can see that the narrow crop with this may have some serious potential – lol will give it a go and perhaps throw it up too as an alternate :o)

  • You know – I think you’re right – just had a quick tweak in Lightroom – don’t be surprised if you see a tighter top and bottom quite soon…

    ooo-errr that’s a bit rude LOL

Unusual to see Tekapo in B/W and this is a great one. Of all the Southern lakes, I think Tekapo is actually the hardest to photograph well. You seem to have the right touch Dean!

  • Thanks John, Coming out of our hotel I saw these two large frozen ‘puddles’ – which were tiered and looking down towards the church and lake – a photo waiting to happen that was! great light and shadow which will always look better in a good mono version. :o) cheers

  • Hey Yes – thanks for the pointers of places to shoot in the good old SI a couple of months ago – as you can now see the fruits of our trip – we had a great time and such beautiful and jaw dropping scenery :)

I really like that amazing cloud blowing off the top of that mountain and I reckon the tighter crop draws your eye to it a bit more. Magic scene in any case but.

Wonderful shot, Dean. I must go over in winter, obviously. Where was this taken from, I like the side view?
