Sony a850, minolta 24-75 lens

6sec, f6.3, ISO200

dark, raining and very very wet coming around the rocks then climbing up the cliff to get to this position. Soaked by a massive wave but lots of fun!

Excellent work Dean, and looks even better large.

  • Severe storm warning in place – so I thought I’d take a walk down the beach… signs everywhere saying ‘stay off’ but a photographer must make the most of these conditions eh! hee hee. Had major trouble getting round the cliffs, the tide was too high – got caught running around outcrop of rocks at the base of the cliffs just as a biggy hit… needless to say as well as the incoming wave from the back, it hit the cliff – went straight up in the air and then back down on top of me! By this time it was getting quite dark and I was filthy but oh so much fun lol

Love the foreground. The light on the rocks that you’ve got is perfect!
Cam ok? or was in the bag by the time the wave hit?

  • I’d left the camera gear high up in this position and had gone to see where the dog was – wimped out by the car. Put him back in it then made back for my gear :o) then whhooooosh! lol
