This was taken the same day as the previous image. I like this for the chaos the clouds seem to produce with the sun’s gentle rays piercing through before it sets.

This shot kind of breaks the thirds rule (just more my inexperience) but I don’t think that matters with this shot. ( perhaps you could let me know). The intensity of the clouds brings life to the picture

    I LOVE breaking rules………………
This is stunning……….love the light coming through the clouds……..like the angels are about to sing

  • lol – yes Cat, it does a little – this is looking towards the setting sun. I’ve been looking intently at this photo and the clouds just draw you eyes towards the back left don’t they :o)

Rules are made to be broken Dean didn’t you know that! And look what happens when you do break them :) I think there is a wonderful balance in the composition. Nice strong b&w image. The clouds are amazing and I love those light rays. Awesome work :)

Stunning sky! Love the angle pulling to the left with the angry and intense clouds against the almost calm looking-going-to-sleep shores…. – it’s just like being there! Excellent shot!

This is an outstanding capture! Superb choice for b&w with that awesome sky. I really like how the clouds seem to be pressing down, as if to smother the land and push the sea back out. The suns rays breaking through, giving a glimmer of possible calm. Well done.

  • Thanks Craig, this is a fav of mine the more I look at it… it may even be worth a big print for my wall:)
