Islip Church, St Nicholas

Jane Hansen

Frederiksberg, Denmark

Artist's Description

The oldest part of the present church is from the end of the 12th century. Edward the Confessor was born in Islip ca. 1000 years ago. He was King of England from 1042-1066 and he built the Abbey of St Peter at Westminster (Westminster Abbey).

When entering the church one day I got caught by the cross that reflected the afternoon-sun.
