“Deo Non Fortuna” or roughly translated “By God, not by chance”. I found this beautiful window in the former Benedictine Abbey in Fort Augustus, int he Highlands of Scotland. I haven’t been able to find out anything about the connection between Gervace Elwes of Roxbury and the motto, but it may be in tribute to the famous British tenor.
