Bailey was a German Shepherd puppy that we owned about five years ago. He was a bit more than we could handle at the time and we found him a new home with a young son who could give Bailey the attention he deserved. I’m happy to say they are the best of friends now.

Bermuda born so I occasionally get “rock fever” and have to travel – especially to France! Mostly use my Nikon D200, but also use a Sony Cybershot DSC T90 and a Lumix DMC-LX5 for quick shots.

What a gorgeous creature, Tricia. They ARE a handful at that age, but I’m sure you miss him

  • Thanks John. Yes, we do miss him, but I’m sure he’s happier now. We had German Shepherds before, but Bailey needed more exercise than we could manage and we didn’t feel it was fair for him. As my husband and I have matured, we now have a smaller dog that fits better into our more sedate lifestyle!

I know the feeling, Tricia. My own solution ( having owned a much missed Border Collie for 14 years), is to take other people’s dogs for a walk, and then hand them back!

Love your Bailey. We also had a German Shepard called “Oliver” that we had to send to dream land and our “Bailey” is a golden Retriever that replaced him. But you have a lovely shot of him.

  • Thank you for your lovely comments. Dogs become such a part of your family, don’t they?

Beautiful German Shepherd puppy! There’s only one thing better than a German Shepherd puppy and that’s TWO of them!!!! :)))
They are full of energy at that age as you know from your experience with Bailey, but when they settle down they are just the best that there is!

  • Thank you Vivian. We’ve had several Shepherds over the years and we know the joy and loyalty they give. They are such a wonderful breed but do need a lot of exercise which we just couldn’t give him. He is very happy with his new family and we are glad we made the decision that was the best for him. Thank you for the lovely comments.
