This shot was taken through a 1st floor window in the Denon Wing of the Louvre, Paris. The lighting and the colours of the courtyard were so perfect. Very little was done post-production on this shot.

Nikon D200, Nikkor 55-200mm

A UNESCO World Heritage Site

grey, blue, paris, architecture, france, louvre, courtyard

Bermuda born so I occasionally get “rock fever” and have to travel – especially to France! Mostly use my Nikon D200, but also use a Sony Cybershot DSC T90 and a Lumix DMC-LX5 for quick shots.

    great capture looks cold!!

  • Actually, it wasn’t too bad, but it does give that impression, doesn’t it? Thanks for the comments.

    This is stunningly beautiful!

  • Thanks for the comments. I only had one day in there, and it left me wanting more! It is such a huge palace with the most incredible creations made by man (and women – of course!)

This looks like a drawing! Were you allowed to open that window?

  • It was actually shot through the glass. I was very pleased with the result as the lighting seemed perfect.
