I have a great love of light, colour and painting.
My earlier work was in watercolour landscape in North Staffordshire. On moving to the Isle of Wight, with a very young daughter, I wanted to capture the way she was growing, her interest in everything, her openess to the world and the moments of pure joy in a childs life. Simultaneously, I was exposed to the light of south facing beaches, the sea, sailing, surfing and swimming. My palette changed, I moved to pastels and my love of colour grew.
I studied design as a first degree in Stafforshire and continued in post graduate study in art education. I have been a successful artist in the Isle of Wight and Hampshire area. I have had several exhibitions at the Quay Arts Centre on the Island and exhibited at Kendall’s Gallery on the Isle of Wight, the Robert Perera Gallery in Lymington, the Granby Gallery in Bakewell and a one man exhibition at the Bartley Drey Gallery in Chelsea.
I have won several awards in open exhibitions and produced illustrations for sailing magazines and work commissioned for publications and book illustrations.
I have a great deal of experience with commission work and I am always happy to discuss project.
