Ok it was a dull day with heavy rain on and off here in North Yorks (UK) but having spotted these tables and chairs all lined up…….

This is Grinkel Park. A large but not so austentatious country house set in it’s own extensive grounds, probably built from the proceeds of iron ore mining on the Yorkshire Coast where the miners were paid a pittance to work in a highly dangerous environment.

Sold off some years ago, the building is now a hotel where tea for two will relieve you of nicely less than £10.00p, (Summer 2012) albeit in somewhat luxurious and agreeable surroundings…..

Beautiful capture and great description of the place. They made a nice park of it.
    Cheers!

  • The building itself is quite impressive in styling and design however it isn’t nearly as large as some country houses. Looking more like a extremely extensive stone built swiss chalet it has a certain charm about it. The grounds are beautiful. :0)
