Yep the so well known as part of the British rural land and city scape is being ripped out and replaced by a the new bland and wishy-washy varieties… yuk
They do seem to be surviving well out here in the sticks and this one has even had some new panes of glass fitted!

Very nostalgic Trevor, great shot. I even worked on these little beauties during my apprenticeship, and there seems to be very few of those too. I love the intense colour of the box. In the 70’s the glass was replaced by a strengthened plastic which could be hit with a sledge hammer without breaking, but they used to go cloudy.
You also have a juxtaposition of technologies in this shot, the old is the main subject and the new is the satellite dish in the background!
