Grimwith is a reservoir in the Yorkshire Dales. This painting got it’s name after a typical spring day in the Dales. Merice and I strolled round the perimeter with camera and sketchbook in hand. We literally did experience four seasons in one day with conditions ranging from sleet to bright sunshine, with rain and showers in between! I’ve been back many times since that first visit – Grimwith….but never grim!
This 30″ × 22″ watercolour was painted on Saunders Waterford 140lb paper with Windsor & Newton artists paints.
