This is an iPad exercise inspired by my recent visit to the David Hockney Ehhibition at the Royal Academy in London. It was inevitable that many of us would want to try and emulate the master and this is my first atempt. I have enjoyed the experience and look forward to exploring the possibilities in this new ‘medium’ (!)
I have no idea how to classify my effort but hope you like it!

As a painter of light, legend and landscape I am indebted to the wonderful medium of watercolour which gives me the versatility to incorporate many different styles in to my work.

Cool. You could call it iPaintng. :) What app did you download for this?

  • Hi Marsha,
I started off with a free app – Drawcast and then progressed onto the ‘Brushes – Pro’ which wasn’t free! To my chagrin I found it did not contain a ‘blur’ tool so I have gone back to the free one…which is a little galling for a Yorkshireman!

I bet the exhib was great. The recent TV shows about Hockney have been excellent. We are so lucky to have him in Yorkshire. Like your first attemt Genn.

  • The exhibition is fantastic…an inspiration to all who see it I’m sure. We are indeed lucky to have him in our part of the world.
