Winter Tree, Mattersey, North Nottinghamshire. by

This winter painting is based on a photograph by a good friend- Sally Outram, who kindly gave me permission to use her prize winning shot as the framework for this unashamedly nostalgic look back to winters long gone. This was a time when the winters were colder (!) but the snow was fresher and however cold knew you had a roaring fire and a piping hot cuppa waiting back home..remember and enjoy!
This 30″ × 20″ watercolour was painted with Windsor & Newton artists paints on Saunders Waterford 140lb NOT.
This painting is now dedicated to the brave men and women of the RNLI who keep Britain’s coast safe. To see why please have a look at my blog:

As a painter of light, legend and landscape I am indebted to the wonderful medium of watercolour which gives me the versatility to incorporate many different styles in to my work.

Such a lovely winter scene, Glenn. There is such a feeling of peace and harmony. The light in the sky is wonderful and love the church in the distance on the left.

  • Thanks Bev – I don’t think you can have an English landscape without a village church in there somewhere!
