This was painted in December 2005 on the advice of a dear friend who has been surrounded by great art her whole life.
I was exhibiting in Gallery 49 which had just opened and Margaret suggested I do a snow scene to exhibit specifically on a poetry night to be held in the gallery on a cold Winter’s night.
“It will sell!”, she promised and guess what….she was right – sold the very same night!
The original watercolour was 20″ × 16″ and done on Saunders Waterford 140lb NOT surface with Windsor & Newton artists paints.
As of 13th December this has been viewed 521 times and been favourited by 55 people.
As a painter of light, legend and landscape I am indebted to the wonderful medium of watercolour which gives me the versatility to incorporate many different styles in to my work.

Layby in the Snow is nice but I really love this one. Margaret is always right. The light and snow are wonderful.
She was certainly right with htis one. I painted it, framed it myself and hung it on the gallery wall. That same night we were hosting a poetry do and one of the guests bought it.
