This was the first time I visited Dane’s Dyke with the tide out! What a superb beach and the view wasn’t bad either! This was a large watercolour painted on Saunders Waterdord 140lb NOT with Windsor and Newton artists paints.
beach bridlington danes dyke sea seascape
Wonderful Glassyness to the puddles & sand Glenn,Lovely rock textures & movement.
Thanks. I got a shock when I saw how far the tide went out. I just loved the way the large puddle knifed into the beach.
Excellent stillness – beautifully done Glenn!
Thanks Maree. It usually is quiet here – people come for the Dyke and don’t know about this lovely beach – don’t tell ’em!
I hope that i will be able to see as well as you sometime. When I look at light and shadow, I often don’t know what color I see. Takes a little time and opposite brain activity. Great job.
Don’t get too hung up with colour – concentrate on getting the tones right and just paint what you see!
WOW! I agree with Bill – the glassy water, rocks etc so beautifully executed. Tranquil.
Wow! Glenn you just keep blasting right through to my central visual nerve center with these lovely compositons of light and reflections!
Hi Randy,Thanks my friend – I’ll try to keep blasting!
I’ve made several attempts at getting the wet sand with it’s highly reflective puddles, but nothing nearly this successful Glenn. Fantastic work.
Thanks Jim,I used the masking fluid so that I could keep overall control – luckily it worked.
Hi Glenn,Another beauty! The reflection is outstanding as is the colour palette used.
Thanks Diko,I always work with a very limited pallette and I think the wet red sand probably makes the painting work.
lovERly to meet you Glenn..love what you’ve done with the angular light shapes in the foreground
Thanks Avalyn..it was those shapes that attracted me as they ‘knifed’ into the painting.
Superb painting, Glenn so realistic !!!
Thanks George – glad you like it.
Thanks Fee – I have to admit that is just what I thought when I first walked on this secluded beach – and that was what I was trying to capture.
