I Miss The Old Time Country

I miss the old time country ‘bout rolling hills and plains
Sung by Tex and Buddy and people of other names
I miss the white faced cattle and the race of old Gunsyn
Of gumtrees and the wattle blowing in the wind
I really miss the old shows and the travellin’ picture man
Bringing to the country things they could understand
Rodeo’s and country dance they really had a ball
Music sounding ‘cross the plains you never hear no more
Time goes on and things must change but never for the good
Gone are the days of friendliness found at the old homestead
No swaggies on the road with tales for all to tell
It’s gone for good and wont return but my memories serve me well
