Artist's Description

In ancient Greek mythology, Acheron was known as the river of pain, and was one of the five rivers of the Greek underworld. In the Homeric poems the Acheron was described as a river of Hades, into which Cocytus and Phlegethon both flowed.

Sounds nice huh

This reminds me of the first Europeans to visit Yosemite,if memory serves me correct they were actually on an Indian extermination mission and had chased some into the valley. It seems that due to the fact they had such evil intent on there minds they were completely unreceptive to the amazing beauty around them and all of them completely missed the scenic paradise they were in accept for the doctor who I would like to think as a healer and not a destroyer remained receptive and shared his discovery after returning.

Acheron: river of beauty if you’re in the right frame of mind to see it
